Viña del Pedregal´s vineyards are located in the Loncomilla Valley, our appellation of origin. It is a transversal valley, oriented from east to west, from the Cordillera de los Andes towards the Pacific Ocean. The fields that make up our vineyards are Potrero Grande, Florencia, Batudahue, Cunaco, Cerrillos and Santa Teresa. Its soils, with slopes of around 2%, are distributed in two clearly defined zones: the area of the Loncomilla river bank, with sandy loam textures, deep and with a low amount of stones and the plateau area, with its clay loam soils, of variable depth.

The climate is temperate warm Mediterranean, with marked seasons, and with temperatures of about 18ºC, and a marked thermal amplitude during the ripening period of the grape, of about 16ºC, which favors the development of the vines. The Andes mountain range has influence over the land around it. The Loncomilla river regulates the climate in the adjacent fields making them fresher. The Melozal fields close to the mountain range of the Coast are known for being very warm during the day but with abrupt low temperatures during the night because of the penetration of fresh winds from the coast.
